Troubleshoot upload issues

Fix common problems when uploading PDFs.

Upload fails completely​

Check file type:

  • Only .pdf files are supported
  • No Word docs, images, or other formats
  • File must have .pdf extension

Check file size:

  • Files over 10MB may fail
  • Compress large PDFs before uploading
  • Split very large PDFs into smaller files

Check internet connection:

  • Stable connection required for upload
  • Try again with better connection
  • Avoid uploading on cellular if possible

Upload starts but never completes​

Large file timeout:

  • Files over 5MB take longer
  • Wait at least 2-3 minutes for large files
  • Don't close browser during upload

Connection interrupted:

  • Upload stops if connection drops
  • Start over with stable connection
  • Try smaller files first

No thumbnail generated​

PDF might be corrupted:

  • Open PDF on your computer to verify it works
  • Re-save PDF and try uploading again
  • Create new PDF if file is damaged

First page blank:

  • Thumbnail generates from first page
  • If first page is blank, thumbnail is blank
  • This is normal behavior

Wait longer:

  • Thumbnails take 5-10 seconds to generate
  • Refresh page if thumbnail doesn't appear
  • Check back in a minute

Upload button disabled​

At plan limit:

  • You've reached your PDF limit
  • Delete unused PDFs to free space
  • Or upgrade your plan

Already uploading:

  • Wait for current upload to finish
  • One upload at a time
  • Button re-enables when complete

Multiple files upload fails​

Too many at once:

  • Try uploading fewer files at once
  • Upload in batches of 5-10
  • Give each batch time to complete

Mixed file types:

  • Ensure all files are PDFs
  • Remove non-PDF files from selection

File uploads but doesn't appear​

Refresh page:

  • Sometimes display doesn't update
  • Refresh browser to see new PDF
  • Check library view

Check different view:

  • Switch between grid and list view
  • Search for PDF by name
  • Clear any active filters

"File too large" error​

Compress your PDF:

  • Use online PDF compressor
  • Reduce image quality in PDF
  • Remove unnecessary pages
  • Target under 5MB for best results

Split PDF:

  • Divide large PDF into sections
  • Upload as multiple files
  • Link all sections to same resource

Upload corrupts PDF​

Try different PDF software:

  • Re-save PDF using different program
  • Export as PDF from original document
  • Use Adobe Acrobat if available

Simplify PDF:

  • Remove complex elements
  • Flatten layers
  • Embed fonts properly

Slow upload speed​

Normal for large files:

  • 5MB file takes 30-60 seconds
  • 10MB file takes 1-2 minutes
  • This is expected behavior

Optimize file size:

  • Compress before uploading
  • Keep files under 5MB when possible

Check your connection:

  • Upload on faster WiFi
  • Avoid peak usage times
  • Test connection speed

Can't select files​

Browser permissions:

  • Allow file selection in browser settings
  • Try different browser
  • Clear browser cache

File picker doesn't open:

  • Click directly on upload area
  • Try drag and drop instead
  • Update browser to latest version

Unsupported file type error​

Wrong file format:

  • Only PDF files work
  • Check file extension is .pdf
  • Convert other formats to PDF first

Corrupted PDF:

  • PDF might be damaged
  • Re-create the PDF
  • Use different PDF software

Tips for successful uploads​

Prepare PDFs properly:

  • Keep files under 5MB
  • Use .pdf extension
  • Test on your computer first
  • Compress if needed

Upload in good conditions:

  • Stable internet connection
  • Modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari)
  • One file at a time for large PDFs

If problems persist:

  • Try different browser
  • Clear browser cache
  • Test with smaller file
  • Contact support with error details
