Link to products

Attach PDFs to product pages for manuals, size charts, specs, and more.

Product PDFs help customers make purchase decisions:

  • User manuals - Show how to use the product
  • Size charts - Help customers choose the right size
  • Spec sheets - Display technical specifications
  • Care instructions - Explain how to maintain the product
  • Assembly guides - Provide setup instructions
  • Warranty info - Share warranty terms and coverage
  1. From your PDF library, click the PDF you want to link
  2. Click Link PDF
  3. Select Products from the dropdown
  4. Type part of the product name in the search field
  5. Click the product from the results
  6. Click Link PDF

The PDF is now linked to that product page.

Search for products​

The product search helps you find items quickly:

  • Type any part of the product name
  • Results update as you type
  • Click a product to select it
  • Products show with thumbnails for easy identification

PDFs link to the entire product, not individual variants. If you link a size chart to "T-Shirt", it appears on all sizes and colors of that t-shirt automatically.

Add several PDFs to a single product:

  1. Link your first PDF (size chart)
  2. Go back to your library
  3. Select a different PDF (care instructions)
  4. Link it to the same product
  5. Repeat for more PDFs

Customers see all PDFs in a list when you use the button display style.

Share the same PDF across multiple products:

Example: Link a fabric care guide to all clothing products

  1. Link the PDF to your first product
  2. Click Link PDF again
  3. Search for the next product
  4. Keep linking to more products

Template filtering for products​

Show PDFs only on specific product page templates:

  • Link PDF to a product
  • Set template to "product.alternate"
  • PDF only appears when that template is active

This is useful if you have different page layouts for different product types.

Where PDFs appear on product pages​

PDFs appear where you add the Theme App Extension in your theme editor:

  • Above the Add to Cart button
  • In a separate tab
  • Below the product description
  • In a sidebar

You control the position using your theme's section/block system.

Tips for product PDFs​

Name PDFs clearly - "product-manual.pdf" is better than "document1.pdf"

Keep files small - Under 5MB loads fastest for customers

Update regularly - Replace outdated manuals with new versions

Use consistent formats - Make all your manuals look similar

Test on mobile - Many customers shop on phones
